(ANBB is a german electro/industrial duo formed by electronic musician/visual artist Carsten Nicolai (Alva Noto) and Blixa Bargeld (Einstürzende
Neubauten, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds); they have been friends and
admirers of each other work for a long time, until they collaborated
directly for the first time in 2007, when Alva Noto and Bargeld met on
the stage at Media Labs Studios in San Francisco.
The newly formed duo recorded several tracks, combining Alva Noto's soundscapes and elaborated beat structures with Bargeld's voice and improvisational songwriting. This material was released as a Ret Marut Handshake EP in 2010, with a full-length album Mimikry presented soon after. Following the release, ANBB duo went on a live tour at various festivals and solo venues in Europe).
